Shillong, July 30: The cabinet minister and BJP leader, Sanbor Shullai has encouraged people to eat more beef than any other meat.
“I encourage people to eat more beef than chicken, mutton or fish,” Shullai said.
Speaking to reporters on Friday, he said by encouraging people to eat more beef, the wrong information and notion that BJP will impose cow slaughter ban will subside.
The three-time legislator from South Shillong said everyone is free to eat what they want in a democratic country.
Shullai, who is holding the Animal Husbandry & Veterinary portfolio, assured that he would take up the matter with Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma.
He wants to ensure that cattle transportation to Meghalaya is not affected by the cow protection law passed by Assam.
