Shillong, March 19: The Department of Khasi, Sankardev College, Shillong organised an Inter-College Quiz Competition ‘Tang Shikyntien’ on the Khasi language, on March 18.
The objective for organising the competition was to enrich the Khasi vocabulary. Its aim was also to engage the interest of the students in learning and broadening their knowledge of the Khasi language thereby ensuring that the language is preserved and its usage continued and encouraged.
There were eight colleges which participated in the competition.
Winners – Samborlang Pde and Bashembhalang Warbah of Shillong College.
1st runner-up – Ribakordor Syiem and Elbaris Kurbah of St. Mary’s College
2nd runner-up – Blibor Suting and Amtilang Iawphñiaw of St. Anthony’s College
The quiz master for the competition was Dr. Sukjai Swer. The chief guest was Prof. M.S.Warjri, IQAC Coordinator of the college.
