Sawkmie wants govt, heads of institutes to address plight of students due to Manipur unrest

Shillong, Aug 18: Former MLA PT Sawmkie has suggested the state government to reach out to the heads of the educational institutions regarding the fees to be paid by the students who are facing hardships due to the unrest in Manipur.

Sawkmie said the government in consultation with the heads of institutes can ameliorate the sufferings of the students by way of exemption of fees or reduction in fees as this will help them to continue their studies since  there is a humanitarian crisis.
