SC stays ban on border demarcation
Shillong, Jan 6: The Supreme Court has stayed the order of the High Court of Meghalaya to stop physical demarcation of border following the Assam-Meghalaya boundary pact.
After the High Court stopped the demarcation of border following a petition, both Assam and Meghalaya governments had moved the top court.

According to the Supreme Court, implementation of welfare measures will not be affected by the border pact.
The action of the government was after both the single bench and the division bench of the High Court wanted the stay to continue.
