State allays fears over disposal of bodies
Shillong, May 13: The state government has allayed fears over disposal of bodies.
Speaking to reporters on Thursday, deputy chief minister Prestone Tynsong said that there is confusion regarding disposal of bodies among different faiths and there were a few instances where organisations like Seng Khasi, Sein Raij, and Fellowship were scared to collect bodies and conduct rituals.

“We request everyone not to hesitate to dispose of bodies. Protocol is already in place. Body needs to be properly wrapped and the relatives can take the bodies not inside the house but outside for a few hours”, Tynsong said.
He also urged various organisations and individuals not to be scared.
“PPEs will be provided to take care of bodies”, he added.
