State BJP president dissolves WGH district committee
Shillong, May 8: BJP state president Ernest Mawrie on Saturday dissolved the party’s West Garo Hills district committee.
This follows the resignation of district president and others.
State president, minority morcha, Mominul Islam also resigned on Wednesday stating that the party president had accused him of campaigning for NPP based on a complaint filed by Fozibor Rahman, who had unsuccessfully contested from Shyamnagar district council constituency on a BJP ticket. The party had denied ticket to Mominul.
In the resignation letter, Mominul also expressed unhappiness over the state president asking Hashanoor Islam, BJP Mandal President, Phulbari to probe whether he was campaigning for NPP.
However, in a letter addressed to Mawrie, Hashanoor said he did not find any evidence regarding Mominul campaigning for NPP.
