State yet to reduce VAT on fuel even after Centre’s suggestion

Shillong, Nov 4: Even after the Centre’s directive to the states to reduce VAT on petrol and diesal, the state government is yet to follow this.

Almost all the Northeastern states and others  have reduced VAT on petrol and diesel after the announcement of the Centre on Wednesday to reduce excise duty on fuel.

When contacted, a state government official said the government is yet to decide on the matter.
