Shillong, April 19: A third gender voter came forward to vote in the city.
According to Chief Electoral Officer BDR Tewari, the voter is from Khliehshnong A.

“She says she came from Shillong to represent the third gender community, but as she is still applying for the third gender in the electoral roll, she has to vote in the all male polling station”, Tiwari said.
Meghalaya has only three registered third gender voters.
As per the official data, while two are enrolled in Lumshyiap & Lum Phira under Pynthorumkhrah Assembly constituency, the third is from Phulbari in West Garo Hills.
