Shillong, Aug 26: Three friends from Assam are on a cycling mission to protect journalists.
Freelance journalist Snehankar Chakraborty and two friends-Santanu Moran and Rambabu Thakur- started their mission from Assam to Sohra to create awareness to put an end to the atrocities against journalists.
“I was a journalist and now I am freelancing. I understand the problems being faced by our friends in the fraternity”, Chakraborty said.
He said as the journalists have no forum to express their grievances, there is a need to create awareness since they face problems from all fronts.
“There should be positive intervention from the authorites”, he added.
The team representing ‘Let’s Pedal’ also wants to create awareness on issues arising out of climate change.
