Shillong, Sept 25: Police arrested two persons under Prevention of Illicit Traffic in Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (PITNDPS) Act, 1988.
PITNDPS is used against habitual offenders and the detention of the accused can be from 3 months to 2 years.

The accused have been identified as Hubert Lamphrang Palar, (22) son of (L) Richard Nonglang, a resident of Mawiong Pyndengrei, Nongstoin, West Khasi Hills and Pynhoi Nongtdu (30), son of Sper Bang, a resident of Nartiang, Thadlaskein West Jaintia Hills.
The government has already set up an Advisory Board for implementation of the Prevention of Illicit Traffic in Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances
