Shillong, Sept. 26: A woman was arrested in connection with drug peddling.
According to a statement by East Khasi Hills SP Sylvester Nongtnger, on September 25 a joint operation was successfully conducted by the Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) of East Khasi Hills, Shillong, in collaboration with Lumdiengjri Police Station and Jhalupara Outpost. The operation took place at Jhalupara, leading to the arrest of Aisha Khatoon (alias Pahari)(50) a resident of Lower Paltan Bazar, Shillong.

The items recovered and seized during the operation were 73 vials containing suspected heroin, weighing 9.72 grams, 4 mobile phones and Rs 27,410..
A criminal case vide Lumdiengjri PS Case No. 103/24 u/s 21(b)/27A NDPS Act has been registered.
