Shillong, Jan 7: Deputy Chief Minister Prestone Tynsong has appealed to the agitating EMRI employees to call off their strike by assuring that the state government would soon discuss the contract signed with the company in the cabinet.
The employees wanted hike in salary and cancellation of the agreement with GVK
A delegation of the GVK EMRI workers had met Tynsong and sought his intervention for ending the agreement with the company.
“The agreement signed with the GVK EMRI will end by March. I told them also we will see and discuss all these details in the cabinet. The health department will bring us all the details on how to go about it,” Tynsong said.
“ I would request to please withdraw your strike. We will look into this matter. We will see how to go about it,” he said.
