UP Assembly polls: Priyanka promises to build skill training schools for girls
Lucknow, Nov 22 (UNI): Days after she announced to give 40 per cent tickets to women in the coming state Assembly elections, Congress general secretary and in-charge of Uttar Pradesh Priyanka Gandhi Vadra on Monday promised to set up skill training schools for girls in every district, if Congress was voted to power.
These skill training schools will be named after Veerangana Jhalkari Bai, Vadra announced on Twitter, while paying tributes to the legendary freedom fighter.
“The Congress party has decided that if the government is formed in Uttar Pradesh, skill schools will be opened in every district for girls in the name of heroines like Jhalkari Bai ji. Girls will be given skill development training in these schools,” she posted on the micro-blogging site.
Congress has already promised to give 40 per cent tickets to women in the Assembly elections and also announced to come up with a separate manifesto for women.
The other promises made by Congress for UP polls are Smartphones and Scooty for girl students, three free LPG gas cylinders annually and free bus service for women.
