Shillong, Aug 24: The alleged accused in the vehicle purchase scam, senior police official GK Iangrai did not want to make any comments when asked about his response on the report on irregularities in procurement of vehicles for the police as appeared in the media on Wednesday.
“I have no comments to make to your query”, he said.

According to sources, a letter was issued to him on Tuesday to appear on Wednesday in connection with ‘an enquiry’ but by that time the report was already out.
Sources said that since Iangrai is on medical leave, he could not appear before the inquiry team on Wednesday.
Curiously, Iangrai was transferred out on August 23 through a reshuffle effected by the police headquarters.
