Walkathon from Itanagar to Shillong focuses on healthy life sans drugs

Shillong,Oct 10: Welkin Stone Shadap, a student of Botany Department, NEHU has announced successful completion of walkathon from Itanagar to Shillong by his team from September 30 till October 8.
22-year-old Shadap thanked all those who made the walkathon possible and successful.
According to Shadap, the purpose to organise the walkathon was to inculcate a healthy mind.
“Healthy mind, healthy life and walk against drugs was the focus”, said Shadap.
“Though the walkathon has nothing to do with drugs, we wanted to spread the message that people should do something productive and useful”, he said.
“My message to all is to stay away from drugs and do something which is going to create an impact in the society”, Shadap added.
Earlier, Shadap had set a record for walking maximum distance in a single day after he 101.54 km in 19 hours and 33 minutes from Mawiong Rim to Sohryngkham, back to Mawiong Rim and from Mawiong Rim to Saiden. His walk started on January 26, 2023 at 3.05 am and completed the task on January 26 at 10.38 pm.
