Chandigarh, Sept 28 (UNI): On seeing his political ambitions being scuttled by the Congress High Command that nominated Charanjit Singh Channi as Chief Minister, Navjot Singh Sidhu has resigned and is trying to take a high moral ground, state BJP president Ashwani Sharma said here on Tuesday.

The Congress and Sidhu seem to be indulging in a comedy show and it is a farce that Sidhu is talking about ethics, he said.

Dubbing Sidhu as someone lacking maturity and sagacity, he said in politics its always dialogue and taking people onboard and Navjot Singh Sidhu is famous for being a “one man comedy show”.

“We are a border state, we need responsible and visionary leaders not politicians who have only one agenda of self-propagation,” Sharma said.

Congress party after unceremoniously removing Capt Amarinder Singh appointed Channi as chief minister and Sidhu could not reconcile to this move by the high command. “Sidhu wanted to puppet the high command and he had to resign in desperation when he understood that the party will not elevate him to Chief Minister if it came to power in the soon to be held assembly elections,” said Sharma.
