Shillong, Oct 10: Senior state government official Manjunatha.C passed away on Tuesday evening due to heart attack.
Chief Secretary DP Wahlang conveyed condolences following the sudden demise of the IFS official.
According to an official source, Manjunatha, who was holding the charge of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary department as its secretary, suffered a heart attack in the afternoon.
By evening, he was brought to Woodland Hospital from his residence at Forest Colony Polo. Later, the doctors at Woodland declared that he is no more.
Manjunatha was alone at his residence and his wife was at his native place in Karnataka.
Many government officials expressed shock over the death of the young officer who served the state in various positions.
“Our deepest condolences to our beloved colleague. Prayers for his family members in this most difficult time”, they said.
