Arunachal’s GSS Pachin becomes India’s first 3D-printed school

The school was destroyed in a fire in November 2023

Itanagar, July 30 (UNI): The Government Secondary School (GSS), Pachin in Arunachal Pradesh, has become the country’s first 3D-printed school.

The GSS Pachin near Naharlagun, which was destroyed in a fire in November 2023, was reconstructed using 3D printing technology in just two months, official sources said on Tuesday.

Taking to his social media handle X to share the news, Chief Minister Pema Khandu wrote: “Government Secondary School, Pachin, Itanagar, becomes India’s first 3D Printed School. Devoured by fire, the school was rebuilt in just two months!”

Sending his hearty congratulations to all those involved in the project, the CM said, “I heartily compliment everyone engaged in creating a watershed moment in our collective efforts to offer a cost-effective, sustainable and rapid solution to the educational needs of our students. With the help of state-of-the-art facilities, we can make education more accessible to remote and underserved communities.”

Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein also commended the dedication and innovation in rebuilding the Government Secondary School, Pachin as India’s first 3D-printed school.

“Completed in just two months after the fire, this project demonstrates our commitment to providing cost-effective, sustainable, and rapid solutions for our students’ educational needs,” Mein said.
“With advanced facilities now in place, we are determined to bring quality education to all,” the Deputy Chief Minister added.
