She is alive and has been kidnapped: Govind

Sonam's brother appeals to cops to not give up hope & look for the person instead of her body

Weisawdong (Sohra), June 5: The brothers of Sonam Raghuvanshi on Thursday said they suspected kidnapping and that their sister was alive.
Sonam’s brother Govind Raghuvanshi and cousin Kiran Mule told mediapersons here that they strongly believe that their sister was alive.
“It has been so many days and the search team has not got any clue. The rescuers have not yet found her phone or bag. So, this is kidnapping. We will be here until we find Sonam,” said Raghuvanshi.
The brother also appealed to the police and the rescuers to not give up hope and change their tack to find her alive.
Sonam and Raja’s phones showed the tower location of Nongriat before going missing, but the last Instagram post of Raja was from Weisawdong.
Sonam last spoke to her mother-in-law on May 23 afternoon. The couple went missing on the same day.
‘Crime-prone hills’
When pointed out that many national media and social media users have been tarnishing the image of Sohra by tagging it as crime-prone, Raghuvanshi said everything hints at foul play.
“About 200 m below the place where Raja’s body was found, there were tonnes of garbage. If this place is isolated, then who is dumping the garbage. It must be the locals. Who will know that a body had to be dumped in that pile of garbage,” he said, adding that he came to know that human body parts were found in the site in the past.
However, Sonam’s cousin, Mule said they did not want to get into a blame game.
“We are here to find her and not to blame anyone. It does not matter who finds her, the local police, CBI or anyone. All we want is our Sonam back,” said Mule.
