Meanwhile, six Naga hostages are yet to be traced till date. The United Naga Council (UNC) alleged that the six Nagas have been held hostage by Kuki National Front (KNF-P) and Leilon Vaiphei village under Kangpokpi district of Manipur.

According to the UNC, “it is an established fact, corroborated by eyewitnesses present at the scene, that the remaining 6 Naga hostages including two pastors are still in Kuki custody”. The abduction of 18 innocent Naga civilians, including men, women, and married couples, and taken hostage in broad daylight happened at Leilon Vaiphei village on May 13, 2026, between 10:30 am to10:50 am, said the UNC, adding, “12 women and baby child hostages were subsequently released on May 15”.

Further, information from reliable sources indicates that the 6 Naga hostages may have been done away with in the custody of the KNF-P, the UNC also said. The “indecisiveness and inaction” of the Government of Manipur has unduly delayed resolution of this matter, alleged the Naga body.
