Over 100 Bangladeshis detected in state in 3 years

Shillong, Sept 16 : As many as 116 Bangladeshi illegal migrants have been detected  from 2018 till August 31, this year. Home Minister Lahkmen Rymbui informed this in the Assembly on Thursday in reply to a question by Winnerson Sangma of the Congress (in picture)

While 36 were detected during 2018, 18 were held in 2019, 37 in 2020 and 25 up to August 31, this year.

The home minister informed that 16,400 inter-state migrants without proper documents have also been detected during the same period.

Out of these, 5,460 were detected in 2018, 7,626 in 2019, 2,122 in 2020 and 1,192 up to September 1.

Rymbui said there are three districts in the state which gave the Superintendents of Police (Infiltration) while there are 30 infiltration posts in the state.
