Anganwadi workers of GH seek govt intervention
Shillong, Sept 24: All Garo Hills Anganwadi Workers’ and Helpers’ Association has sought the intervention of the government to address their pending demands.
A delegation of the association met the Deputy Commissioner , West Garo Hills on September 21and submitted a memorandum addressed to Chief Minister Conrad Sangma reminding him of the grievances.
The demands are enhancement of honourarium from Rs 6,000 ( Rs 4,500 from Centre & Rs 1,500 from state) to Rs 10,000, equal pay for equal work like the ASHA workers who get Rs 100 extra for polio duty, pending payment for one year for Covid duty, replacement of old smartphones, stopping of nutrigold due to low quality and enhancement of honourarium to mini Anganwadi workers who assist the main workers.
