Assam cattle law reduces smuggling in Meghalaya

Shillong, Nov 30 : The Assam cattle preservation law has reduced smuggling of cattle from Meghalaya to Bangladesh.

BSF DIG, D Haokip told reporters on Tuesday that the Assam law has reduced cattle smuggling this year in Meghalaya compared to the previous years as the figures suggest.

This year, the BSF seized 2929 numbers of cattle worth Rs 45,70,3500.
