Shillong, Feb 11: For the BJP, the support of five Cong MLAs to the MDA does not pose a problem as the party considers that the Congress has further weakened by the move of their MLAs.
However, the BJP will write to the chief minister, Conrad Sangma seeking clarification as to why they were not informed before accepting the five Congress MLAs as the BJP is part of the MDA government.
Speaking to reporters on Friday, the BJP national vice president said,” No harm for the Congress to support us ..they are reduced after they joined and it has done harm to the. Congress . but we are sad that the CM has not informed us.”
To a question, he said pulling out of the government does not arise on this issue.
BJP state president Ernest Mawrie said the development is a state matter and it will not affect the elections elsewhere.
