Cong splits in Meghalaya,12 MLAs join Trinamool, official announcement tomorrow

Shillong,Nov 24: As many as 12 MLAs from the Congress have joined the Trinamool Congress and a letter in this regard was submitted to Assembly Speaker Metbah Lyngdoh on Wednesday.
Congress has 17 MLAs in Assembly.
A senior Congress legislator confirmed the development and said they have two-third majority and a formal announcement will be made on Thursday at 1 pm.
CLP leader Mukul Sangma is leading the team.
The Trinamool Congress not only weakened the Congress in Meghalaya but also put a prominent footprint in Haryana with several senior leaders joining the West Bengal-based party.
Congress MP Ashok Tiwari and cricketer-turned-politician Kirti Azaad were among the leaders who joined the Trinamool.
West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and party national general secretary Abhishek Banerjee met Javed Akhtar and Sudheen Kulkarni.
