Cong wants BJP to act against corrupt Meghalaya govt

Shillong, March 29: The Congress has left it to  the BJP to take action against the National People’s Party-led MDA government for its corruption.

Speaking to reporters, the AICC media coordinator Bobbeeta Sharma said the BJP and NPP were only making a political drama during the elections by saying they are not working together but the fact is they are always together.

She said the BJP fell in its own trap by saying that the NPP is the most corrupt government in the country.

“So let the BJP answer if NPP is the most corrupt government in the country…so let them decide,” Sharma said..

“When somebody is corrupt you always put the ED, the CID and CBI and everybody after them so why not after this NPP government, why not after the CM?”, she asked.

She said the AICC media chairman Jairam Ramesh has already written to the CBI to investigate Amit Shah’s allegation that Meghalaya is the number one corrupt state in the country. “Let them (CBI) decide on the matter.”

To a question, she said that the Congress will wait for the response on the letter to the CBI before taking a decision on future course of action.

Jai Bharat Satyagraha

The AICC has launched Jai Bharat Satyagraha to protest against the disqualification of Rahul Gandhi as MP.

Bobbeeta Sharma told reporters that the Jai Bharat Satyagraha will start from Wednesday and continue  till April 8.

During this period a series of street corner meetings will be organised.

According to Sharma, the Congress will do everything to save democracy.
