Difficult to track every bus from Dudhnoi to Goalpara, says CM in response to query on nun’s agony

Shillong, Feb 22: It is difficult to try and map every bus going from Dudhnoi to Goalpara, says Chief Minister Conrad Sangma in response to queries by journalists on the harassment of Sr. Rosemary in Assam.

Earlier, in a statement, the Auxiliary Bishop of Tura ,Jose Chirackal had said that the driver and some occupants of the bus going from Dudhnoi to Goalpara made derogatory remarks on the nun’s religious dress and faith forcing her to board another bus.
She had boarded the Goalpara-bound bus at 11 am on February 17 from Dudhnoi and also paid the fare.
Sources said the stand of Meghalaya chief minister that the bus cannot be tracked will be like questioning capability of the Assam police.

According to Conrad, after he took up the matter with Assam chief minister, he messaged back assuring action as he is following up the matter.

Conrad also said an official spoke to the nun but did not get the required information since privacy issue is involved.

He said the bus number and other details are yet to be received.

However, the chief minister said this type of incident should not go unnoticed.
