Shillong, May 21: Police on Tuesday seized drugs with Rs 5.5 crore from East Jaintia Hills.
According to police, on May 21 morning, based on source Information ANTF team headed by additional SP East Jaintia Hills along with officers and personnel of Lumshnong PS detained a Tata Sumo proceeding from Silchar, Assam.
During checking 58 soap boxes of heroin weighing around 609 gms were recovered. The market value of the siezed heroin is Rs 5.5 crore.

One person, lalbiakdik vaiphei (39) from
Mandanriting was detained and one Tata Sumo and one mobile phone have also been siezed in presence of independent witnesses.
An NDPS case has been taken up in this regard for further action.
