Shillong, June 10: New Tura MP Saleng Sangma on Monday accused Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma of suffering from “mental disorder” by blaming a particular religion in Meghalaya for the defeat of the BJP-led NDA in the Lok Sabha polls.
In response to a question, Saleng told reporters, “The Assam CM himself has talked about religion during the elections. Have you not seen that one that you know they will try to do away with? You have seen how the Assam CM has done away with all those religious allies so why talk much about it because he’s becoming a bit mentally disorder. He himself had talked about religion during the election campaign and before that also he has done away with lots of Muslim community.”
When asked, the Tura MP said, “You have seen it openly, so why is he blaming the religion right now. He shouldn’t have blamed it on religion I think, that is why I am telling you he might be having some mental disorder regarding this one.”
On whether he can substantiate his stand, Saleng said, “He himself has repeated the same thing which he had already spoken against it before. You have already seen it. He said he doesn’t need this and that, he was speaking openly against the functioning of particular religious doctrine. Now how can he speak that you know Meghalaya, Manipur, Nagaland have played those kinds of roles. That is why this is the simple reason”.
