Shillong, Aug 23: The court-appointed panel headed by retired judge BP Katakey stressed the need of standard operating procedure for coal coming from outside the state.
A meeting was held in this regard on Friday.

Katakey said the intention is to ensure that Meghalaya coal should not be illegally used in the name of transporting coal from Nagaland and Assam.
He said the notification regarding the SOP will be made by the state government next week.
