KSU demands suspension of DGP

Shillong, Aug 19: The KSU has asked the state government to suspend the Director General of Police (DGP) and the police officers involved in the August 13-firing incident that resulted in the death of the former general secretary of HNLC Cherishstarfield Thangkhiew.

“We demand the government to suspend the DGP and the police officers who led the operation team that gunned down the former HNLC general secretary to pave way for a free and fair investigation,” KSU chief Lambokstarwell Marngar said in a statement.

Marngar said the KSU has maintained that the judicial inquiry should be independent in nature and that its report should bring out the truth.
