Lafarge provides essential commodities to Shella village
Shillong, June 14: Lafarge Umiam Mining Private Limited (LUMPL) donated essential commodities on June 11 for 500 households in Shella Village who have been left economically vulnerable by the lockdown.
Handing over the essential commodities to the Secretary of the Shella village dorbar, the Senior Manager (Mines), Atul Wadettiwar, said that in view of the rising Covid cases in the village, where most of the households have been affected, LUMPL is undertaking the distribution of essential commodities as part of its CSR initiative for health & Covid-19 relief aid, to provide support to these affected households during the pandemic.
He also said the company has been working very closely with the village dorbar to ensure support for the health and safety of everyone in Shella village.
The Secretary of Shella village dorbar, appreciated the gesture of the company for its donation and continued support to the dorbar during these difficult times.
He said the distribution of the essential commodities/dry ration would benefit the disadvantaged households of Shella.
