Shillong,Jan 27: The students of Mawryngkneng Mission School displayed a drill depicting Kargil war earning applause and appreciation from the people and officers alike during the 75th Republic Day celebration held at Polo Ground on January 26.
The drill was about the fight of Indian Army against the enemy in the Kargil war- all depicted by the students.
So impressed by the performance of the students, DGP LR Bishnoi decided to visit the school.
“They performed very nicely depicting the victory at Kargil and the group consisted of both the boys and the girls, their drill was amazing and whoever has conceived this idea ,he or she deserves applause. It will be a pleasure for me to visit the school and interact with the students”, Bishnoi told reporters.
The DGP, who also took a photograph with the students, said they can inspire the youth to join the police or armed forces.
The drill secured second position in the cultural show though it deserved first prize.
