New Dawn spreads wings, gets 25 members in Ri Bhoi

Shillong, Nov 13: New Dawn, a young organisation, on Saturday inducted 25 members during a programme in Ri Bhoi.

The programme was attended by the members of NDM central body. The president, Avner Pariat, spoke at length to the attendees on the various principles and ideologies by which New Dawn stands on.

Pariat also encouraged them to be unfazed and resilient in their service towards the society.

“NDM repudiates the notion that issues must be addressed by way of violence, high-handedness or anything unlawful and believes that in a civilised society like ours we can tackle head on any problems facing the state by way of discourse, deliberation and usage of the constitutional mechanisms. This is now the age of the khlakhulom, not the khlawait,” he said.

The programme was organised by Ulrich Mawlong who praised the attendees for coming forward in being part of this nascent movement and acknowledged their passion and commitment for uplifting their communities.

Mawlong said NDM would be organising various other events across the state to “encourage and motivate people to come forward and oppose wrong and crooked practices”.
