Shillong, Sept 3: BJP leader in-charge Meghalaya Chuba Ao has said miscommunication had led to the demand to oust state president Ernest Mawrie.
Speaking to reporters on Saturday to a question as to many disgruntled leaders and members want Mawrie to step down, Ao said, “That is their personal issues. Party has to be led by somebody…today he (Mawrie) is there, he is leading. There may be a little bit of miscommunication, this and that…if you have any problem with the president or me one should come to us for clarification instead of going to the air.”
The state BJP president has also ruled out any change in the party.

The BJP has not de-notified the appointment of arrested Tura MDC Bernard Marak as state vice president of the party.
Ao said, “We have not yet given any denotification because the matter is still pending”.
“Till today the matter is in the court so let the court give justice after that we will think of it,” he said.
He reiterated the demand for an independent inquiry into the episode that led to the arrest of Marak, Ao said, “We have asked for an independent inquiry because one side is the government and one side is he himself.”
