Non-functional govt for over a year

The Meghalaya Democratic Alliance (MDA) government that took over the reign of the state in 2018 has completed three-and-a-half years. The government actively and effectively performed for only two years and was non-functional or a dead government for the remaining one-and-a-half years.

During the period in the block headquarters, there were hardly any staff attendance, and on days, it was nil. How can the government deliver like this? At the district level, only deputy commissioners and a few junior staff were found but many senior officers in several departments were also absent.

Even offices of those at the directorate and secretarial levels were deserted and most important files dealing with development and others of masses in rural and urban areas remained pending or unmoved. The government blamed Covid-19 for this delay, procrastination or non-deliverance during the period. Will MDA continue to remain dead during the remaining period of its tenure because the disease might become more infectious and chronic? The golden opportunity of the MDA to rule the state may be wasted for good or may not come back. As of now, if an honest Progress Report is to be given by the people of Meghalaya, I am afraid that the MDA government may fail miserably.
