Rehabilitation professionals get training to empower differently abled

Shillong, Jan 17: The office of Composite Regional Centre for Skill Development, Rehabilitation & Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities,(CRCSRE) Shillong under the administrative control of SVNIRTAR, Cuttack, Odisha , Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (Divyangjan), Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, Government of India has conducted a two-day zonal level CRE programme on “An Integrative Approach- New Trends in Disability Rehabilitation” from January 16 to 17 at DERT Annex, Malki here.
All together 95 rehabilitation professionals across North East are benefitting from CRE programme. The training programme was significant for persons with disabilities.

PwDs often require specialized care, interventions, and support to enhance their quality of life and enable them to participate fully in society. The training programme played a pivotal role in ensuring that professionals working in the field are equipped with the knowledge, skills, and empathy needed to provide effective and holistic care.
The programme was chaired by  Camelia Doreen Lyngwa, Director of Social Welfare & Commissioner for Persons with Disabilities,  R. Passah, Assistant Commissioner for Persons with Disabilities,  and Dianghunlang Chyne, Architect, office of Chief Engineer, CPWD Shillong. The training programme was conducted under the guidance of Dr. Ram Shakal Sahani, Director, CRCSRE- Shillong, with coordination of Pranami Barua, Assistant Professor (Cli. Psy.), CRCSRE Shillong and Rajesh Chettri, Assistant, CRCSRE Shillong
