Shillong, Apr 3: The police seized cash, liquor, drugs and freebies worth Rs 4.06 crore after the model of code of conduct was enforced.
Speaking to reporters on Wednesday , Chief Electoral Officer BDR Tiwari said that over Rs 37.51 crore was seized till date.
Before the announcement of model code of conduct (MCC), the total seizure was worth Rs 33.45 crore.
“After the announcement of MCC, we have Rs 4.06 crore, so total seizure till date is Rs 37.51 crore and this includes liquor, drugs, cash and freebies etc”.
The official said all the central agencies and the state agencies are on the job and the needful arrangement for the flying squad, SSTs, VSTs are already being put in place.
“So, the nakas and everything is being monitored and checked regularly and properly,” he said.
