Shillong Club rejects plea to remove fencing in Golf course
Shillong, Nov 27: The Shillong Club has rejected the plea of the Seng Samla to remove the fencing in Golf Course.
Addressing a press conference on Wednesday, Director of the Club Hector Marwein along with other office bearers said that the demand is unjustified.
He said fencing and protection to the area had prevented drunkenness and prostitution.
“We are not against the youths who want to make use of the facilities at the golf course but we can’t hand over the administration”, Marwein said.
The Seng Samla Pynthorumkhrah Pyllun comprising four localities-Golf links, Lymshyiap, Pynthorbah and Langkyrding and the Seng Samla Mawroh stressed the need of using the playground for recreational facilities.
They wanted the Madan Saw playground to be handed over to the four localities.
However, Marwein said that the Shillong Club is ready to provide access to the play ground but it can’t hand over the administration.
