Shillong girl releases music video in Capital
Sukhmani Kaur Bedi, who is originally from Shillong, released her first original song on April 25. Jhoothiyan Mohabbatan was released on all leading music streaming platforms.
“This is my first original song and the response has been overwhelming with so much love pouring in from listeners,” Bedi, who is living in Delhi now, told Sunday Monitor.
The song is a blend of two genres, 80’s Synth pop and Fusion Punjabi. It is about a woman who has been betrayed in love. As the lyrics depict her pain and restlessness, the video also shows her strength to fight back. In the end, “she picks herself up and gets going”, said Bedi.
While Bedi is the singer, the lyrics have been written by Switchers (Prayas Makkar) and the music is by Mohit Goyal. Bedi said production was delayed owing to the Covid-19 pandemic and the project could be finished only this year.
On her next project, Bedi said, “I am in talks for shooting my next project in Shillong and also collaborating with a few leading musicians of the North East.”
