Shillong, Apr 22: SPARK, a city-based NGO, organised an event for underprivileged children on the occasion of Earth Day on Saturday.
The event began with prayers and a pledge to protect Nature. The children vowed to do their part in protecting nature.

Protecting the environment and safeguarding our Mother Earth has always remained an important activity at all the centres of SPARK, where children are sensitised on its importance by involving them in activities every week, a statement said.
The children also planted trees, watered the plants and carried out a cleaning drive in different areas.
SPARK celebrated Earth Day at Mawlong-Umsawli, Mawlynrei Trianshong, Rangmen and the Bara Bazaar slum.
