Despite limited opportunities in Chowkham, Sambhav’s hunger for knowledge led him to pursue a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from a top college in Jaipur. After graduating, he accepted a position as a site engineer on a major 24-MW hydropower project in Bomdila in Arunachal Pradesh, which sparked his passion for environmental science. But even this milestone was not enough to quench his desire to make a difference on a global scale.

With his eyes set on further studies in the US, Sambhav dedicated countless hours to preparing for the GRE. His efforts paid off as he aced the exam on his first attempt, securing admission to the prestigious Stevens Institute of Technology in New Jersey, where he pursued a Master’s degree in Environmental Engineering. The path was anything but easy; there were countless challenges and moments of self-doubt, but his family’s support and perseverance kept him going.

Today, Sambhav Varshney is a sought-after environmental scientist in New York. His journey from a small town in Arunachal Pradesh to the heart of New York City serves as a powerful inspiration, especially for young students in small towns with big dreams.
