Shillong, Sep 11: A meeting of the organising committee of the 2nd Sohra 2nd Sohra International Half Marathon 2023 was held on Monday to review the preparations for the event on September 30.
This is the 3rd meeting conducted by the organising committee and the office of the SDO (Civil) Sohra. The event is officially approved and supervised by the Athletics Federation of India.
A detailed discussion was held as to the closure of traffic for 3 hours along the route from 6 am to 9 am on the day. A decision was made to circulate information to all stakeholders, especially from the tourism sector, so that tourists are not inconvenienced.
The route will be from Laitsohpliah to Mawsmai (21km).
The meeting was attended by J Umdor, EAC, Sohra Civil Sub-Division, John F Kharshiing from Meghalaya State Olympic Association (MSOA), and Finely L Pariat, General Secretary, MSOA & Meghalaya Athletic Association (MAA).
