Three cases of crime against women reported in Jharkhand

Bokaro/Ranchi/Dumka, June 22 (UNI): At least three cases of crime against women and children were reported in different districts of Jharkhand on Tuesday.

In Bokaro, the body of a girl was found in a hotel located under Sector Four Police Station area. When the service boy entered the room, he found the body hanging after which he alerted the owner and the police.

Upon receiving information, a police team reached the spot and sent the body for postmortem. The deceased was later identified as a resident of sector 9 B in Harla locality.

Hotel staff said the girl had reached the hotel early in the morning claiming that she had come from Dhanbad for personal work.

Officer in charge of Sector 4 police station Binod Gupta said a two-page suicide note has been also recovered from the room.

In Ranchi, a minor girl has been gang raped under Kharsidag outpost under Namkum Police Station area.

The victim has accused a villager, Pradeep Singh (23), and his friend of gang raping her. In her complaint, she said she knew the culprit for the last six months and on the pretext of marrying her, he along with his friend had raped her on the evening of June 19.

After the incident came to light, the villagers had tried to stop the victim’s family not to go to the police but the family registered their complaint.

In-charge of Kharsidag OP Baijnath Kumar said both the accused are absconding and raids are on to nab them.

In Dumka, the body of a minor girl was recovered from a well in Birna village under Saraiyhaat Police Station area of this district.

The deceased has been identified Varsha Kumari (10). The father of the deceased said on Sunday evening, her daughter had gone out but had failed to return after which he had registered a complaint at the police station.

Police said some villagers who had gone towards the well spotted the body and informed the police station. After performing the postmortem, the body was handed over to the family members.
