Victim not to withdraw case involving Thomas Sangma
Shillong, Aug 5: The woman who filed a case against NPP legislator Thomas Sangma for allegedly raping her reiterated that she would not withdraw the case.
She also threatened to move court for a CBI probe.
The woman, in a statement issued to the press on Thursday said that she had lodged an FIR against Sangma before Sadar police station under section 376 and 506 IPC and the case is still pending in the court for trial.
She said it was known from reliable sources that Sangma had been spreading false messages/statements to the public that she had demanded Rs 5 crore from him to withdraw the case.
The woman reiterated that she would not withdraw the case against Sangma and that she will fight till the end and will even approach the Supreme Court to get justice. “I am not afraid of Shri. Thomas A. Sangma and I don’t care whether he is MLA, adviser to CM or the former member of Rajaya Sabha,” she said.
She further announced that she will reward Rs 2 lakh if any person/individual who can bring the evidence that Sangma is lying that she is demanding Rs 5 crore from him to withdraw the case and if anybody has evidence, they can contact 8794741523 for the reward and she will not disclose their name and identity.
“ I will also be filing another writ petition within a few days before the High Court for a CIB inquiry into the case”, she said.
She also lodged an FIR against a facebook user for shaming her in public by uploading her picture.
