BJP central leadership rules out change in state set up

Shillong, Feb 5: The BJP central leadership has ruled out change of state party president despite demands in this regard.
BJP central leader and Meghalaya in-charge M Chuba Ao said that he has not received any report of BJP leaders trying to dislodge Ernest Mawrie as the state president and he was surprised to see the media reports claiming as such.
Ao directed Mawrie to visit al the mandals and bridge the communication gap.
Mawrie has as also rubbished media reports of attempts to dislodge him from the post .
Speaking to reporters, Mawrie said these were attempts by individuals who wanted to remove from his post .
To a query on the dissidents from Ri Bhoi, he said there were no reports of any attempts from the BJP, Ri Bhoi unit to dislodge him.
Answering a question, Mawrie said that he will carry on with his crusade against corruption though he was appointed an advisor to the Chief Minister.
Earlier, union minister and senior BJP leader Kiren Rijiju said that in a democratic set up, opinions many differ but at the end of the day it is the teamwork that matters and all the leaders must work together.
“If the leaders work mutually , work together , co-exist together then we will all progress together. The progress of the party depends on how united the leaders are , he said.
