According to the BSF, with the arrival of Covid vaccine, a massive vaccination drive was undertaken by the BSF and 100 % BSF personnel were vaccinated.

The BSF statement said that as a result, the personnel are almost free from Covid-19 virus.

The movement of troops for various causes, including election related duties, leave and other reasons is an integral and important aspect of the functioning of BSF and it can’t be fully curtailed, said the BSF.

“Under such circumstances, Covid vaccination has proved a game changer in bringing down the positivity rate among the BSF troops to the lowest. Those who are affected, are either asymptotic or having mild symptoms and their recovery is very fast in comparison to the non-vaccinated persons.

Besides being thankful to civil administration for providing sufficient vaccine,  Hardeep Singh, IG Frontier HQ BSF, Meghalaya also thanked the medical fraternity of the BSF for managing the pandemic with dedication and hard work.

He added that following the vaccination of 100 % BSF troops, the vaccination of ladies and children above 18 years of age is going on and it is likely to be completed soon.

He said the vaccination is the most potent weapon in the fight against Covid and every citizen of the country should come forward and get himself vaccinated.
