CM’s panel to decide on reopening of educational institutes

Shillong, Aug 23: A committee headed by Chief Minister Conrad Sangma will decide on the reopening of educational institutes in the state from September 1.

Education Minister Lahkmen Rymbui told reporters that a meeting on the matter was held by the education department on Monday and it was suggested that the schools and colleges should be allowed to open from September 1.

He said a final decision will be taken by the committee headed by the chief minister as the matter has been endorsed to that committee.

He said the recommendation was to allow opening of colleges and resumption of classes from 9 to 12  from September 1 in both urban and  rural areas.
