Shillong, April 5: The East Jaintia National Council (EJNC) has stressed the need to follow the District Selection Committee meeting in East Jaintia Hills according to the office memorandum of December 18, 1972 as per the reservation policy.
The East Jaintia National Council president, Sambormi Lyngdoh submitted a memorandum to the DC of East Jaintia Hills Abhilash Baranwal on various vacant posts in the District Selection Committee.
The organisation pointed out that according the reservation of vacancies in services/posts under the state government as per the office memorandum, the posts are not transferable and they should be going to the local residents and the DSC should take note of it.
The organisation said it does not want to raise any objection to candidates from other region if there are no candidates from the district but if the locals from the district participate as per policy, there should not be any deviation.
The deputy commissioner assured to follow up the matter.
