Shillong, Feb 15: The Opposition leader Mukul Sangma has said the Centre should take cognizance of the illegal coal mining taking place in the state as the NPP-led MDA government is yet to act on it.
He also displayed the recent video of coal mining and two related photos before the media, on Tuesday.

According to Mukul, due to easy money, the illegal coal mining and transportation will also result in new militant groups emerging in the state.
There are already movements of groups and this is because of the illegalities happening in the state, he added.
To a question whether this will be an election agenda of his party in the 2023 Assembly polls, the TMC leader said, “Why should one wait for one year, the government should act”.
